Cosplay Startup Reinvents the Sewing Pattern for Contemporary Cosplayers
Long Beach, Calif. (Jan 3, 2023) — First Stop Cosplay will debut a variety of cosplayer-centric sewing patterns this week as a sponsor of Animé Los Angeles 18, which runs January 5-8 at the Long Beach Convention Center. The Irvine-based startup has released a line of sewing patterns with durable pattern paper, detailed written instructions, and step-by-step video tutorials that teach cosplayers how to sew their own costumes.
“I’m so excited to sell our sewing patterns in a convention setting, especially because Animé Los Angeles is one of my favorite conventions,” said Amanda Gregory, founder and president of First Stop Cosplay. “ALA has always been a convention for cosplayers. You can show up not knowing anybody, then leave with 50 new friends.” The company will serve as a proud ALA 18 sponsor to give back to the convention and cosplay community.
Through more inclusive sizing and instructions that teach cosplayers valuable sewing skills, First Stop Cosplay empowers cosplayers of all experience and skill levels. The First Stop Cosplay Originals collection, which includes sewing patterns for a Pleated Skirt, Short Bloomers and more, is available to purchase both at Animé Los Angeles 18 and online. More original and officially licensed patterns are planned for future release.
